So I couldn’t decide if I liked the black and white version or the color version best. The tie breaker was that there have been a lot of color photos on the blog lately and even more waiting in the archive for me to post. So there it is, my justification for posting the black and white over the color. Although, I must admit the color version carries a lot more storytelling elements because of the American flag draped behind the boy as well as the hat pops off the shirt a bit more. Also the quality of light was pretty nice on the boy’s face. Shit maybe I SHOULD post the color one. AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHH. You know, just for the record, I am an indecisive person by nature so this is driving me crazy. I’ll tell you what, why don’t you click on the photo and you can see the color version of the photo and we will just have a vote. So if you are reading this post and looking at these photographs you have thereby entered into a contract with the administration of this blog to give your honest, unabashed opinion, etc. in the comment area. You will not be compensated, because lets face it, I am a journalist therefore I’m broke.

This is from Cherry Hill two weeks ago. Story was about the waterpark getting a slow start to the season due to the unseasonably cold and rainy weather. The day I shot this it was cloudy and rainy.

Flood Water Rafting

A couple of weeks ago it seemed like almost every assignment was about flooding or had something to do with water in some way. This is the Weber River near Croyden, the rafters usually don’t portage their boats around it. They just go under it. A few days after this ran on A1, I was watching the NBA finals on KSL and they showed a teaser with their reporter on this bridge. The next teaser they showed was from another story that we shot a week before. Seems like KSL has been reading our newspaper a lot lately.
