Alright they are standing in the Sunshine. And there are seven of them. But what did you want this blog post to be titled, “Geese?” Nah. That is boring and this photo needs all the help it can get. This wasn’t for an assignment or anything but while I was at Weber State this morning walking back to my truck I saw these birds hanging out in the sun, snow and an empty parking stall in an otherwise full lot. They might have been there holding the spot for a friend. Anyway, it just caught my eye that’s all. As always, thank for looking.

Cheers,

I have tried to keep my blog easy on the personal notes but I felt compelled to write this entry nonetheless.

Without going into too much detail, Julie and I found out this week that because of a neck injury Taos can no longer do what he loved most. Playing ‘F.’ Luckily we discovered his injury early and as of right now he wont need surgery to remove disk material. Looking back I have no regrets even though his injury is a culmination of years of catching his frisbee.

He has always been as passionate about playing ‘F’ as we have been in our own endeavors. It saddens me to think that he will no longer be able to do his one and only true passion. He was born to catch the flying disk. So it seems tragically ironic that it is another disk that keeps him earth bound.

As I write this I find myself thinking how depressing it would be if I could no longer photograph or if Jules could no longer teach figure skating. Our passions are things that we sometimes take for granted. We sometimes get caught up in the future that revolves around the actions and activities we love so dearly.

Hopefully I say this without sounding too preachy but please, run as fast as you can and fly as far as you may. Because one day it could be gone as quickly as it came.

Unfortunately I rarely photographed him playing his heart out but I did manage to take a few of the last time he and Julie and I played together. And though they are not the greatest photographs of him, they seem important now.

So here is Taos, master of the frisbee. (Here’s to you bug!)

Please click on the photo for more. Thanks for looking and sharing the memories.

Cheers,
