At the Met

” . . .In New York he is laid in a glass covered case./ He pretends he is dead. People crowd ’round to see him./But each night she comes ’round and the two wander down./The halls of the tomb that she calls a museum. . .”

-Josh Ritter, The Curse

I read a story somewhere about that song and how Josh Ritter was inspired to write it (and the album) by touring around an egyptian exhibit at a museum in New York. (He lives in Brooklyn). I am pretty sure it was the Met because the Egyptian exhibit there was jaw dropping. We only got to see a few exhibits at the Met. (Egyptian, Classical Paintings and of course the Photo exhibit).

I think one could spend an entire 2 weeks in that museum and still not see everything. Anyway, here are some photos.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
