Huntsville House Fire
Sunday, January 23rd, 2011Haven’t posted for awhile. (God I feel like I start posts a lot with that sentence). Have been busy working a lot in the office as opposed to shooting so it was good to get to shoot some spot news on Friday. Although, good news for me means bad news for someone else in this case. A hundred year old home in Huntsville caught on fire. Fortunately, the people got out as did their 2 dogs. Their cats however were not so fortunate. When I showed up it looked like the fire was completely out. One of the fire PIO’s took me close to the house while crews were still working on cutting through to the attic and dousing the smoldering rafters. I was about twenty feet from the house when I saw small flames flare up out of the roof. Didn’t think it was going to erupt to full blow inferno levels within seconds but it did. At which point a police officer yelled at me to get the hell out of there. He must have been yelling at me for awhile cause I kept on shooting until it dawned on me that I was the guy being yelled at.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
